Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions, answered. Need something else? Contact us.
Do your bike racks require assembly?
No. Our racks ship as fully welded units, ready to install.
How do I install your bike racks?
Our racks are surface-mounted using 4 or 6 fasteners per rack. Hardware varies depending on the surface (concrete, asphalt, or DG/gravel). See our Installation Instructions for details.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer quantity discounts for larger orders. Contact us for more information.
What is the stock color for a bike rack?
Galvanized gray/silver is our standard finish and the only finish we keep in stock. Our most common powder coat colors are Industrial Black, Breccia (Rust Brown), and Forest Green, but we can match almost any color. See our standard color chart.
What are the coating and finish options?
Peak Racks are available in powder-coated or hot-dipped galvanized finishes. All powder-coated racks are sandblasted, primed, and color-coated. Some colors also include a clear coat.
Can you make custom racks?
Yes. We can build racks with custom spacing and sizing, and we can add logos or custom artwork. See our gallery for examples of custom work.
How are your racks shipped?
Because of their size, most racks ship on a custom pallet via LTL freight. Carrier and delivery options depend on location. Delivery typically requires a loading dock, forklift, or lift gate service.
Can scooters park in your bike racks?
Yes. While our racks are designed for bikes, most electric scooters can fit and lock to them as well.
Can a Peak Rack be freestanding without being bolted to the ground?
Yes, but smaller racks (like 2-bike and 3-bike racks) may be unstable when a heavy bike is parked. We also recommend elevating the rack 1 inch off the ground to prevent debris buildup around the base. See our hardware and spacer info.
If I’m placing two Peak Racks end-to-end, how much space should I leave between them?
It depends on the rack type. For single-sided racks, we recommend at least 10 inches between racks to maintain proper handlebar clearance. In very tight spaces, 8 inches can work. For full layout guidance, see our layout guides.
Can your team assist with layout?
Yes. Send us any lot drawings, specs, and dimensions you have, and we can help optimize your bike parking area.
Could I get a 16-slot rack if I wanted?
What size bike tires do your racks accommodate?
Peak Racks fit tires of any diameter up to 4 inches wide. Our standard commercial racks include both 4.0-inch and 2.6-inch-wide slots, so they can handle a wide range of tire sizes with minimal movement.
What makes your bike racks different from others?
Our racks fit more bikes in less space without sacrificing security or ease of parking. Want to learn more? See what sets Peak Racks apart.
